Piotr Głowacki – The Man of Chains and Grease

Piotr has been with us since May 2019. You won't find him in the office at a computer, because he's usually sitting in the workshop at the back of Piotrkowska 102. He is responsible for making sure each of our 156 bikes is ready to ride in a minute. To him, a bike is a tool, not a decoration. If something creaks or a brake doesn't grip, Piotr finds the cause in a few moments. He doesn't use difficult words; he just takes a wrench and fixes it.

Each day starts at 7:15 AM by checking reports from 47 stations located in Łódź. If the system reports a lock error at Manufaktura, Piotr packs tools into the van and is on site before the morning rush. Last month he personally checked the technical state of 83 vehicles. He ensures tires have exactly 4.2 bar, making riding on Łódź curbs and cobblestones easier.

Piotr manages a small team of 4 mechanics. He doesn't like long meetings; he prefers specific tasks on the board. His priority is full integration with the Łódź Migawka. He checks if card readers react in less than 3.2 seconds. (By the way, most electronics failures are just dust, which we clean regularly every 11 days). Thanks to his work, a bike is ready instantly, and you skip traffic on Piotrkowska without stress.

Before coming to Cryptoreporter, he ran a small bike service in Widzew for 8 years. He knows every bolt in our city machines. He doesn't believe in unnecessary gadgets; he believes in regular inspection. Every other Tuesday he does a station tour in the south of the city to replace worn brake pads before anyone reports a problem through the app.

In his free time, Piotr restores old road bikes. He has 7 of them in his private garage, and the oldest model is 34 years old and still rides perfectly. If you meet him on the road, he is probably testing a new type of puncture-resistant tube. Pay and ride – that's his principle. He makes sure you always reach work without getting your hands dirty with grease or worrying about the chain.
