83 office building employees switched to bikes
Cooperation with the manager of an office building on Piłsudskiego Avenue. Thanks to a dedicated station right at the entrance, almost a hundred people gave up commuting by car, solving the problem of an overcrowded parking lot.
It started with daily arguments over spots at the Piłsudskiego office building. The manager was losing time on phone calls from angry tenants who spent 18 minutes searching for a free pole. We put a simple bike station right by the main doors and gave people a real option to commute without stress.
The challenge
There were only 114 spots in the underground parking, and almost 200 people came to work daily. Turnover didn't exist because everyone held their spot until 5:00 PM. The cost of renting an additional lot nearby was 12,400 PLN monthly. The manager was looking for a way to relieve the entrance without spending a fortune on new concrete.
Our approach
We checked employee zip codes and found that 43% of them lived within 4.8 km of the office. That's a 12-15 minute ride. The Cryptoreporter team designed a layout of 14 racks and one terminal. We chose a dead zone near the ramp where no car could fit anyway.
The solution
We installed an automatic station integrated with the Łódź Migawka card. An office worker doesn't have to install anything – they tap the city card on the reader and unlock a bike in 12 seconds. Additionally, we set up a small service point with a pump and wrenches so no one worries about minor faults on the way home.
Results
The parking lot stopped bursting at the seams just three weeks after start. The manager didn't have to rent extra land, and tenants stopped complaining about lack of visitor spots.

"I was skeptical because I thought no one would trade air conditioning for a bike. I was wrong. 83 people is a real result that cleared our parking and calmed the tenants."
